Frasenius Kabi UK and Calea UK wanted to improve the experience for their patients by building and facilitating a digital patient community.
The initiative would bring additional communication methods to homecare patients and help prevent feelings of isolation, connecting them with peers in a safe and supportive environment.
A strategy was created based on a collaborative approach that included workshops involving internal and external stakeholders.
The workshops helped uncover the needs of their audiences and what content and support materials would help foster an engaged community. An acquisition strategy supported with creative communications helped the Facebook group reach over 400 members in 6 months.
Shortlisted for a Patient Experience National (PEN) Award in 2018, the group continues to provide a supportive environment for new and existing patients, and carers, where they can share their experiences and learn from each other.
